We had a leisurely start and got up ready to get some food we also marveled at the view as it was a very nice bright day and out hotel window afforded some spectacular views of the city. After some fortifying coffee we headed out for a walk along the main road in search of some food. We ended up eating in a food court grabbing some fast food to hold us. Continuing our walk around the area we headed down to the front and had a walk along the shore.

The area was infested with joggers but not the worst such incidence of this terrible affliction. It was a marvelous day and so we took several pictures of the front and the area around it enjoying the nice weather. After that we headed back to the hotel to do some catchup on our pictures and interneting that due to a lack of good connection we had been neglecting. Stopping off at a supermarket we bought some fruit some cereal bars and some drinks to keep us going then headed back stopping at reception to discover how horrific the internet charges would be.

We secured a day access code for a not horrendous price and then spent a while uploading pictures and doing posts. I also had to renew my lease which inconveniently had become due just as we left for the holidays. While the multitude of photos where uploading we watched the film Sherlock Holmes game of shadows which we had caught the end off last night.

Later on we felt like some getting some food and headed out to a nearby bar/restaurant called the Tasting room. It was a very dark place lit only by candle which made for a nice atmosphere but made reading the menu hard. On their beer menu they had a beer we’d never heard of called something like Reifen bier I forget the exact words we sampled a glass which turned out to be something like a premixed shandy. They had an offer on litre jugs of beer so we started off with one of those going for the orginal ale rather than the other one.

For a starter we has a half sampler platter which was 8 little ramekins with a set of small bites of stuff. One had olives another had tuna tartar some pate and several other nice little bites. It also had some cheese sauce and bread for dipping and it was a nice fairly light meal introduction. For mains I had pork belly which was very nice the meat super tender with a delicious mustard mash carrots and some other vegetable I couldn’t identify but was quite tasty. Byrnie went for the Turducken burger which was a massive construction maybe 50cm high and looked to pose some danger to the jaw of anyone who attempted to eat it. Brynie reduced it in stature by removing the tomatoes and then battled the beast.

The restaurant had some sort of deal where you got a free chocolate fondant with the meal but neither of us could face more food and Byrnie was overly full due to the fearsome turducken burger he was in essence now a manturducken a chicken inside a duck inside a turkey inside a man. We staggered back to the hotel intending to do some sorting out but Byrnie soon passed out and I wasn’t far behind managing to read a little before finding I was smacking myself in the face with an ereader more than following the words on it.
